ABOUT AHENFIE RADIO

It all began because there was nothing good to listen to on the radio...

Broadcasting from a house in Connecticut, our high quality MP3 internet broadcasts reach around the world. Nana Kweku Boafo, Ahenfie Enterprises and Ahenfie Radio founder, had been experimenting with online radio since 2003. After helping other companies with their streaming media operations, he decided that no one was going to create the online radio station he wanted to listen to with all kinds of african music, so he did it himself.

It started as Ahenfie Music in 2006, and officially launched as Ahenfie Radio in June 2010.The station is going strong. We get hundred of listeners a day, which makes us one of the largest internet-only broadcasters for Africa. But we're not looking to increase our audience by playing more mainstream music. We look for music and formats that aren't available on commercial radio, or formats that are "not being done right".

We have always believed that there are plenty of people out there who would really get into the music we play once they discovered us.

We're a listener-supported, 24 hours internet-only radio station.

This means we will play your kind of music at any point of the day. Our mission is to search out and expose great new and old music to people who otherwise may never encounter.
